This very unique site, tucked away in a heavily wooded canyon in the eastern
foothills of the Napa Valley, called for an equally unique approach for the landscape.
We opted to make the most of what was already there–countless live oaks, firs, madrone,
and moss-covered boulders–calling for a bare minimum of disturbance to the natural
landscape. In many instances, decks were constructed around oaks and firs, their trunks
artfully rising through the structures. The planting palette deliberately echoes
existing vegetation, favoring plants native to the area.
