This completely flat site on the floor of the Napa Valley was in need of some visual
interest to make the most of its potential. The addition of a large pond and well tower
allowed us to create a focal point in the landscape, while the excavated earth
conveniently provided us some welcome grade changes from one section of the garden
to another. Strategically placed mature Italian cypresses add vertical drama and
framed important views, while walls of native stone blocked neighboring eyesores.
The owners speak of "walking into their own private world" each time they visit.
